Lotrel is not recommended in patients with severe renal impairment. In patients taking diuretic along with Lotrel, there is a chance of developing hypotension. Hence it is advisable to discontinue diuretic before Lotrel treatment or take additional salt supplements. The co-administration of lithium and Benazepril- Amlodipine should be followed by a continuous monitoring of serum lithium levels as it can lead to lithium toxicity. Lotrel should be administered with caution in patients with hepatic impairment. It is not advisable to consume the Lotrel during pregnancy as it can lead to fetal death.
