Side effects

Guidelines
The dose of Losartan should be reduced in patients with hepatic impairment. Cozaar is not prescribed for patients with severe renal impairment. Cozaar when given with lithium can cause lithium toxicity. The concomitant use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and Cozaar can increase renal impairment. The patient should be advised to avoid potassium supplements during Cozaar treatment. Losartan is not recommended for pediatric patients below the age of 6. Avoid taking Cozaar during pregnancy and lactation.
