Rivastigmine is a carbamate derivative of physostigmine that inhibits both acetyl choline esterase and butyl choline esterase. Exelon is more selective for G1 form of acetyl choline esterase. Acetyl choline esterase predominates in certain areas of brain. Rivastigmine Tartrateis highly lipid soluble and can easily enter brain. Rivastigmine Tartrateaugments cholinergic transmission in brain with mild peripheral effect. The carbamyl residue of Rivastigmine Tartrateinhibits Acetyl choline esterase for up to 10hrs. How does Rizatriptan / Generic of Maxalt work?

Maxalt acts as an agonist to 5-HT1B and 5-HT1D receptors on extracerebral and intracranial blood vessels. Migraine head ache is due to local cranial vasodilatation and/or to the release of vasoactive and pro-inflammatory peptides from sensory nerve endings in an activated trigeminal system. In migraine attack intracranal blood vessels become dilated. Maxalt activates 5-HT1B and 5-HT1D receptors and cause cranial vessel constriction, inhibition of neuropeptide release and reduced transmission in trigeminal pain pathways.
